Oh, the glamour we saw on the red carpet of the 2020 Oscars! The clothing, the jewelry, and yes—the hair. We definitely noticed a few amazing hair styles trending this year, so let’s talk about all the great looks we saw on everyone from Laura Dern and Margot Robbie to Zazie Beetz and Natalie Portman.

Golden Age Hollywood Glamour

Parting of the Waves

Hair parts were of note this year as well—from the sleek, center-parted hair of America Ferrara (accompanied by a beautiful gold head piece—see below), Penélope Cruz and Lily Aldridge to those deep, dramatic side parts as seen on Laura Dern and Billy Porter.

Natural Beauty

One of our absolutely favorite looks of the evening was The Joker star Zazie Beetz’s beautiful up do, which took her hair’s beautiful natural texture to stunning new heights.

Ravishing Roots

Roots are still having a moment, and that moment looks absolutely fabulous on the red carpet, as seen in Florence Pugh’s adorable twisted up-do and Margot Robbie’s glamorous Hollywood ripples.

Bewitched, Bothered & Bejeweled!

The bling on the red carpet was just beyond! But not only were they draped around necks and sparkling from fingers and ears; they also made a major statement in the hair, as seen with singer Aurora’s gorgeous Art Nouveau headpiece, America Ferrara’s woven gold band, Lucy Boynton’s statement pearls at her part line and Billie Eilish’s Chanel hair clip and scarf—the perfect accompaniment to her head-to-toe Chanel look.

The Beautiful Bob

The bob—that classic French girl look we always love—was sported by Natalie Portman (gorgeously tousled and highlighted) and Maya Rudolph (center parted and oh-so-sleek—the better to show off her fabulous dress and earrings).

Pixie Perfection

Pixies went platinum on the Oscars red carpet, as seen on Olivia Colman, who wore hers wavy and accompanied by gorgeous emerald and diamond earrings; and Charlize Theron, whose side-parted version epitomizes the expression “sleek and chic.”

The Uplifting Up-Do

Up-do’s are always ready for the red carpet, and we saw gorgeous versions that ranged from chic, polished chignons to bejeweled sweeping styles, like Salma Hayek’s, to pretty top knots accompanied by face-framing tendrils, as seen on the adorable Julia Butters from Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood.
