Bubbles Gets Backstage Access to #NYFW

On September 9, Bubbles Hair Salons and Rodney Cutler styled the hair for the S/S 2018 New York Fashion Week presentation of one of China’s most accomplished designers – Taoray Wang.

Inspired by a Shanghai Symphony presentation of baroque classical musicians Purcell and Handel, designer Wang Tao infused Victorian elements into her signature sharp, wearable suiting.

Hair Inspo

Rodney Cutler for Bubbles Hair Salons added a youthful edge to Wang’s classically cut designs with intentionally disheveled, textured updos secured with exposed bobby pins.

Get the Look

Cutler shared his steps for achieving the look at home using Redken and Cibu:

  1. Prep hair with Redken Guts
  2. Pull into low pony
  3. Twist hair at center, back of head
  4. Section off top
  5. Twist the ends and press into back of head
  6. Secure with bobby pins, leaving the pins exposed
  7. Fold top section back using Guts and Cibu Finista Flexible Finishing Spray
  8. Fold all in and secure back with pins with pony tail to finish
