Baltimore or Bust!

On Friday, May 20 and Saturday, May 21 the Bubbles Hair Salons team dressed in their brightest derby day outfits and headed to Baltimore, MD for the 141st Preakness Stakes.

Considered the middle jewel of the Triple Crown, Preakness takes place between the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes. Preakness is held annually at Pimlico Race Track and draws a crowd of over 100,000 people. Even though the forecast was cold and rainy, Preakness set all time attendance records for both the historic race on Saturday and Black Eyed Susan Day on Friday.

Black Eyed Susan Day, named after the Maryland State Flower, is the traditional “ladies day” at the Pimlico Race Track. Bubbles Hair Salons sponsored a booth in the Girl’s Galleria and treated attendees to glamorous up-dos by Stylists from Bubbles Hair Salon in Towson Town Center.

Colorful hats and dresses

An oversized hat and colorful dress was the outfit of choice for Black Eyed Susan attendees, who enjoyed a beautiful spring day at the race track. After having their hair styled, they grabbed a complimentary Bubbles make up bag stuffed with Cibu Hi Top Root Booster, a Bubbles mirrored compact and EOS lip balm before lining up for photo booth style selfies in front of the Cibu and Bubbles branded step and repeat.

Off to the Races!

The Preakness forecast didn’t dampen the good time in the Bubbles sponsored Mug and Vine lounge. Mug and Vine attendees enjoyed signature Bubbles cocktails and braved the mud to party to pop group the Chain Smokers and hip hop artist Feddy Wap in the Budweiser Infield fest.

The Bubbles team enjoyed the horse races – and traditional Black Eyed Susan cocktails – under the Turfside Terrace tents, relieved to have paired their sun hats with rain boots and proud to watch the horses (and national news cameras) trot past the super sized Bubbles banner.
