How to Create the Ultimate DIY Blowout in 6 Easy Steps

DIY Blowout with Cibu Hair Products: Fine to Medium

Volume and Bounce Blowout for Fine to Medium Hair

Step 1: Prime

Spray a few pumps of Cibu Drynamic Blowdry Accelerator through damp hair and distribute with a wide tooth comb. Formulated with nourishing argan oil and nano silicones, Drynamic speeds up your blow dry by up to 30% while protecting hair from heat and adding shine.

Step 2: Flash Dry

Set your blowdryer on high (we love Hot Tools Ionic Blowdryer for DIY Blowouts), dip your head over and flash dry your hair until about 60% of the moisture is gone.

Step 3: Prep

Spray Cibu High Top Root Booster at roots and work in with fingers. Next, distribute a golf ball size serving of Cibu Shang High Volumizing Mousse through mid shaft to ends. Shang High Mousse and High Top Root Booster are alcohol free so your DIY blowout is guaranteed to stay bouncy all day long.

Step 4: Section

The secret to mastering a salon quality DIY blowout is sectioning your hair like a salon professional. Use sectioning clips to part your hair in four quadrants: top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right. This step keeps your hair in check so you can dry each section thoroughly.

Step 5: Blow Dry

Now it’s time to get to business. Unclip a back section and position a medium round brush near the roots. Start at your roots and roll the brush down to the ends then take it back up to the roots, concentrating your effort on your hairline first. Once the top part of your hair is dry, your ends will be 85% done. Finish by drying the ends in the opposite direction to give the look definition. Repeat with each section until entire head is dry.
